This is an educational photography workshop styled fieldtrip around downtown Harrisburg and Riverfront Park. This will be similar to last years program. Last years walking fieldtrip was the highest attended fieldtrip with over 20 members. Please note that this year we will meet at the corner of State and Front Streets at 1:00. This is a different location. This will be the first day of Standard Daylight Time, so sunset will be an hour earlier. We are meeting in the afternoon in an effort to catch the softer light and strong shadows. Andrew Hoff will be mentoring and leading this trip and hopefully other seasoned veterans of the club will help some of the newer members.
This trip will be geared more towards an outdoor classroom experience. Emphasis will be placed on how to approach visual ideas, working with a tripod, getting the most from your lenses and what is the proper or best exposure. While working with the Kids Camp I found details to photograph North of State Street so this year we plan to start photographing from North Street heading south and possibly ending up on the rooftop of one of the parking garages for sunset. Parking is free on the street and your best bet is to park on State Street between Second and Front Street.
What to bring: Extra digital cards, extra batteries, flash unit, tripod, a wide angle lens, a macro lens, and a medium telephoto lens, comfortable shoes and water. There will be more walking this your than last year. This is a rain or shine trip. In the event of steady rain we will reschedule for Sunday November 20th. Same time, same place. Any questions contact Andrew Hoff at email@example.com.
